Türkmehowaýollary (Turkmen Airlines) Agency on Saturday organized a special flight to Saudi for a group of Turkmen pilgrims headed for Hajj to Mecca and Medina.
“On the eve of Kurban Bayrami (Eid al-Adha), one of the main holidays of Muslims, our compatriots representing five provinces and the capital of the country will join millions of pilgrims from all over the world who come to Mecca and Medina on these blessed days to perform rites of worship to the Holy Kaaba and other traditional rituals,” the official Turkmen media reports.
The flight was organized in accordance with the Decree of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the agency’s own expense.
In early June, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov visited Saudi Arabia to perform the Umrah. In his visit to Mecca, the Muslim holy land, the Head of State was accompanied by elders from the country's provinces.
