GCC Secretary General to Visit Central Asian Countries
The head of the council expressed his aspiration that the tour would contribute to opening new horizons of joint work.

Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Nayef Falah Mubarak Al Hajraf will visit five Central Asian countries – Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

At the beginning of his tour, Al Hajraf stressed the importance of relations between the GCC and the Central Asian countries, highlighting the keenness and endeavor to bolster them in all fields to serve common interests, the GCC said in its Sunday press release.

The head of the council expressed his aspiration that the tour would contribute to opening new horizons of joint work, cooperation and coordination in all fields between the GCC and the Central Asian republics.

Al Hajraf expressed his hopes that such collaboration would lead to strengthening the areas of economic cooperation, trade exchange, energy, water and food security, enhancing security and stability, and supporting sustainable development efforts, according to the statement.

The GCC is a regional, intergovernmental, political, and economic union that includes Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. It’s main headquarters is located in Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh.
