Turkmenistan has exported $6.6 million worth of tomatoes to Kyrgyzstan in January-May of 2022, an increase of 1.8 times compared to the same period of last year, the Bishkek-based news agency 24.kg reported on Monday with reference to thedata of National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Turkmenistan is the largest supplier of tomatoes to Kyrgyzstan, according to the report. The second largest exporter of tomatoes is Uzbekistan, whose export is 3.9 thousand tons worth $1.8 million, which is 441.5 tons more compared to last year.
The total volume of exports of goods from Turkmenistan to Kyrgyzstan for the period January-May 2022 is estimated at $41.1 million. In addition to tomatoes, Turkmenistan exports cabbage, other vegetables, confectionery, chocolate, pastries, oil products, nitrogen fertilizers, plastic products and other goods to Kyrgyzstan.
In April this year, Turkmenistan exported 200 tons of tomatoes to Russia and Kazakhstan.
