Uzbekistan Proposes to Create Joint Turkmen-Uzbek Transport Company
The Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan was instructed to work out the most optimal routes for entrepreneurs and achieve a reduction in their transport costs.

Uzbekistan proposed to create a joint transport company for the transportation of trucks (TIR) ​​with Turkmenistan. The proposal was voiced by President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Tuesday in Tashkent during a presentation on the development and diversification of the country's international transport corridors.

During the presentation, he also proposed to create a joint venture with Pakistan in the same area. The Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan was instructed to work out the most optimal routes for entrepreneurs and achieve a reduction in their transport costs, the Tashkent-based Yuz.uz news service reports.

“The development of the transport sector is an important factor in increasing the competitiveness of the economy. Exports and investments will increase when the cost of freight transportation is low,” President Mirziyoyev said.

The event also discussed topical issues for each transport corridor, including proposals for their solution.

The importance of resolving issues related to obtaining additional permits for the transportation of export cargo from Uzbekistan to Europe was emphasized during the event.
