Putin Presents State Award to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the order for "his great contribution to strengthening strategic partnership between the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan”.

President of Russia Vladimir Putin awarded Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty chamber of Turkmen bicameral parliament Milli Gengesh, the Order "For Merits to the Fatherland" IV degree. The relevant Presidential Decree was published on Friday on the official Internet portal of legal information of the Russian Federation.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the order for "his great contribution to strengthening strategic partnership between the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan”, according to the document.

Established by the decree of the Russian President in March, 1994, the Order "For Merits to the Fatherland” is awarded for outstanding contributions to the state associated with the development of Russian statehood, advances in labour, peace, friendship and cooperation between nations.

On June 29 this year in Turkmen capital Ashgabat, President Vladimir Putin congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on his 65th birthday and presented him two sabres, chess and a sculpture of a horseman.
