Turkmenistan, China Stress Importance of Bilateral Energy Ties
The spheres of transport and communications, high technology and investment, as well as many other areas were also identified as priority directions of cooperation.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Eurasian Affairs Li Hui during a meeting in Ashgabat on Wednesday identified the fuel-energy complex, chemical-textile industries as important cooperation areas.

The Head of State focused on the prospects for expansion of trade and economic relations and stated that China is currently a major trade-economic partner of Turkmenistan, the official Turkmen media reports.

It was also emphasized that the Turkmen-Chinese Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation was entrusted with important tasks to implement the approved programs.

The spheres of transport and communications, high technology and investment, as well as many other areas were also identified as priority directions of cooperation.

The parties stated that cooperation has been successfully implemented both in bilateral and multilateral formats, including within the framework of the Central Asia+China Dialogue.

Ambassador of China to Turkmenistan Qian Nacheng also took part in the meeting.
