At the proposal of the President of Turkmenistan, the exhibition of Iranian products will be held in Turkmenistan’s capital Ashgabat on November 25-27, IRIB news agency reported on Sunday citing Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran for Economic Diplomacy Mehdi Safari as saying during an interview.
Safari said that President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov in his recent visit to Iran proposed President Raisi the holding of this exhibition in Ashgabat with the aim of developing trade relations between the countries.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran for Economic Diplomacy stated that he discussed this issue with the Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov during his recent trip to Turkmenistan. Mehdi Safari also announced that the meeting of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Iranian commission will also be held in Turkmen capital at the same time as exhibition.
During the interview, Safari emphasized the positive dynamics of bilateral trade between Turkmenistan and Iran, stating that it may reach about $1 billion.
At the beginning of August, the heads of customs services of Turkmenistan and Iran in a meeting at the Artyk-Lutfabad border checkpoint expressed initiatives and proposals aimed at developing trade relations between the countries and simplifying customs procedures.
