Turkmenistan has more than tripled the amount of soft loans that newlywed couples can take to purchase necessary household property and goods.
The relevant resolution on the loan size increase was signed by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov during the cabinet meeting on Friday, the country’s official media reports.
The newlyweds can now take up to 20,000 manats for 3 years at 1 percent annual rate without collateral on the basis of a guarantee.
The measure aims to improve governmental measures to support the newlywed families and improve their living conditions.
Previously, the banks in Turkmenistan provided soft loans to newlyweds with the same interest rate up to 6,000 manats.
