Azerbaijan’s SOCAR Holds Talks on Opening Its Office in Turkmenistan
SOCAR is fully state-owned national oil and gas company headquartered in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) holds talks on opening its office in Turkmenistan, Emin Alekperov, Deputy Head of Science and Technology Department of SOCAR, said in an interview with online radio SNG.fm on the margins of the 27th Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan International Conference (OGT-2022) that was held in Ashgabat on October 26-28.

"The President of SOCAR held a meeting with the Turkmen side, where they discussed the topic of transportation of natural resources, as well as the issue of opening an office of the company in Turkmenistan,” Alekperov said, adding that, “This will allow further effective development of bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas, and logistics spheres."

He informed that the company has joint ventures in a number of countries, offices in more than 10 countries, factories in Turkey, as well as a research design institute with offices in Uzbekistan.

Speaking at OGT-2022, SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf informed that Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline has so far exported a total of 32 million tons of Turkmen oil to world markets.

Created in 1992, SOCAR is fully state-owned national oil and gas company headquartered in Baku, Azerbaijan. The company produces oil and natural gas from onshore deposits and offshore fields in the Azerbaijani segment of the Caspian Sea.
