Turkmen President Meets US Assistant Secretary of State in Ashgabat

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met the US Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu on Monday in Ashgabat.

Expressing gratitude to the Turkmen President for his time, Donald Lu confirmed the United States' interest in strengthening interstate relations built on the principles of constructiveness and equal mutually beneficial partnership, the official Turkmen media reports.

The Head of State said he is pleased to have the opportunity to discuss matters aimed at further development of the traditionally friendly and mutually respectful Turkmen-American dialogue and giving new impetus to bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, it was stated that Turkmenistan and the US intend to continue multivector cooperation both bilaterally and multilaterally, within the framework of authoritative international organizations, especially the UN, to achieve sustainable development and prosperity for all, according to the report.
