President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov in a meeting on Friday with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty chamber of Turkmen bicameral parliament Milli Gengesh, invited him and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to visit Kyrgyzstan at a convenient time, the Press Service of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic said in a statement.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTG) on Friday in Uzbekistan’s Samarkand city.
The sides exchanged views on the assessment of the current state of bilateral relations and discussed issues of organizing high-level visits.
Sadyr Japarov congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the entire Turkmen people on the award of the Highest Order of the Turkic World, noting the high level of cooperation between the countries.
“Today, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan are close friends, strategic partners and fraternal countries, and peoples have maintained friendly, family ties since ancient times,” President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov said.
In turn, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude for the meeting, noting the importance of building up and deepening bilateral ties, including at the level of the parliaments of the countries.
The parties agreed to make joint efforts to further deepen cooperation between the countries, which should develop at an active pace.
The Halk Maslakhaty Chairman also met with the Presidents of Uzbekistan, Turkey and Azerbaijan.
