President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Tuesday received Deputy Prime Minister of Russia and Co-Chairman of the Turkmen-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation Alexei Overchuk, the official Turkmen media reports.
Alexei Overchuk expressed gratitude to the Head of State for his time, and conveyed warm greetings from the Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and best wishes to the Turkmen people.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov conveyed greetings and best wishes to the Russian leadership, stressing that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to strengthening the interstate dialogue of strategic partnership.
The meeting paid special attention to cooperation in trade-economic, scientific- technical spheres. The sides noted that the mutual trade turnover has been demonstrating good dynamics in recent years.
The parties also expressed confidence that the bilateral meetings planned during the current visit of the Russian delegation to Ashgabat would give an opportunity to discuss key aspects of cooperation and identify its future vectors.
According to the report, the activities of the Turkmen-Russian Intergovernmental Commission are aimed at realizing the existing potential of economic partnership and are designed to contribute to the diversification of productive contacts in different fields, promotion of business and investment activities and implementation of new joint projects.
At the end of the meeting, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk expressed confidence that the mutually beneficial Turkmen-Russian partnership would continue to develop successfully.
