Turkmen President Berdimuhamedov Congratulates Kazakh President Tokayev on Re-election
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev won the Sunday's snap election with 81.31 percent of the vote. Voter turnout in the election was 69.44 percent.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, on behalf of the people and Government of Turkmenistan and on his own behalf, has sent heartfelt congratulations to his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on his convincing victory in the elections and re-election as President of Kazakhstan, the official Turkmen media reported on Monday.

"The choice made by the people of Kazakhstan once again testifies to the broad understanding and support of your course, which is aimed at ensuring further social and economic development of the country,” President Berdimuhamedov said, adding that, “I am convinced that under your leadership the Republic of Kazakhstan will achieve even greater successes, as well as continue to enhance its authority in the international arena.”

“We in Turkmenistan highly appreciate your personal contribution to the development of Turkmen-Kazakh relations, and express confidence in continuing constructive dialogue and productive joint work to further build the entire range of bilateral ties for the benefit of our two brotherly peoples," Serdar Berdimuhamedov said in his congratulation message.

The Head of Turkmenistan wished President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev good health, happiness and success in responsible state activity, and to the brotherly people of Kazakhstan – peace, welfare and prosperity.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty chamber of Turkmen bicameral parliament Milli Gengesh, also sent a congratulation message to the President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the occasion of his re-election as Kazakh President.

According to Kazakhstan’s electoral commission, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev won the Sunday's snap election with 81.31 percent of the vote. Voter turnout in the election was 69.44 percent.
