Turkmenistan to Consider Additional Increases in Salaries and State Benefits
The Halk Maslakhaty Chairman stated the availability of all opportunities to show care for the people, the sufficiency of funds for this due to the economic power of the country.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty chamber of the country’s bicameral parliament Milli Gengesh, during the Halk Maslakhaty meeting on Wednesday stressed the need to once again consider increasing salaries, pensions, state benefits, and scholarships for students in accordance with the decree of the President of Turkmenistan by 10 percent.

The meeting focused on the Law "on the State Budget of Turkmenistan for 2023” and was attended by members of the parliament and government, representatives of ministries and line departments, public organizations, mass media and youth, the country’s official media reports.

The Halk Maslakhaty Chairman stated that in the past few years, the amount of wages and other benefits in the country has been increased annually by 10 percent, and said this work will continue in the future. He also stressed that the state officials at all levels should pay special attention to this matter.

Focusing on the matter, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov asked, "Is a 10 percent increase in wages and other benefits enough, is it enough for a decent life for the people?"

In accordance with the Program of the President of Turkmenistan on the Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan in 2022-2028, the average salary of employees is expected to be increased to 2,506.3 manat in 2023.
