President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received on Friday a delegation from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) led by the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technologies Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber.
At the start of the meeting, Sultan Al Jaber and members of the delegation thanked the President of Turkmenistan for his time and congratulated him and all Turkmen people on the 27th anniversary of the country's neutrality, the official Turkmen media reports.
The sides expressed confidence that the delegation's current visit will contribute to further development of the productive Turkmen-Emirati cooperation, as well as holding of specific meetings aimed at identifying priorities in various fields.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov named the fuel-energy sector, the chemical industry, transport and communications, and the financial-banking system as the main areas of effective cooperation, and said he believes it necessary to intensify cooperation in several other areas.
The Head of State underlined the relevance of preparing bilateral documents aimed at expanding the Turkmen-Emirati dialogue, encouraging investment, as well as financial and legal issues.
In turn, the delegation reaffirmed the UAE business community's desire for long-term partnership with Turkmenistan and participation in promising new projects. Noting the great economic potential and investment attractiveness of Turkmenistan, the delegation members also emphasized the special role of the joint committee on cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, the Turkmen President and the UAE representatives expressed confidence that the bilateral cooperation will continue to strengthen on a mutually beneficial long-term basis.
On the same day, the UAE delegation also met with the vice-premiers of Turkmenistan in charge of oil-gas complex, construction, electric power complex, road construction and chemical industry and financial-economic complex.
