The Mejlis chamber of Turkmenistan’s bicameral parliament Milli Gengesh on Friday awarded the President Serdar Berdimuhamedov with the distinctive insignia "Türkmenistanyň ussat diplomaty" (Skillful Diplomat of Turkmenistan).
The awarding ceremony was attended by the leaders of the Khalk Maslahaty and the Mejlis chambers of parliament, members of the government, heads of military and law enforcement agencies, according to the country’s official media.
Reading out the Resolution of the Mejlis, its Chair Gulshat Mammedova said President Serdar Berdimuhamedov is awarded with the insignia for his great personal contribution to strengthening of independence and neutrality of the homeland, increasing its authority in the world arena, implementation of peaceful foreign policy, successful implementation of global programs, development of effective relations with foreign countries and major international organizations, considering his services in improving the activity of the national diplomatic service, and on occasion of the International Neutrality Day.
Accepting this award with gratitude, President Berdimuhamedov said he views it as an appreciation of the joint activities for the benefit of the fatherland. The Head of State stressed that the activities aimed at transforming Turkmenistan into one of the world's leading countries and intensifying its international relations would be continued in the future.
During the expanded cabinet meeting on Friday, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov awarded the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov with the distinctive insignia "Türkmenistanyň ussat diplomaty".
