Gulshat Mammedova, Chairperson of the Mejlis of the bicameral parliament of Turkmenistan Milli Gengesh, during the joint meeting of the Government and the State Security Council on Thursday presented to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov the proposal on the motto for the 2023 - Arkadag Serdarly bagtyýar ýaşlar ýyly (Happy Youth with Arkadag Serdar) and a draft emblem for next year.
Mammedova said the decision to choose this motto was made on the basis of proposals from citizens. This topic was discussed during the meetings of public associations, labor collectives, educational institutions, in cities and villages of the country.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved the proposals of deputies and the people on the motto and the symbol of the next year submitted by the Head of the Mejlis. The Head of State instructed to widely publicize the motto of the next year and its emblem in the press and on television.
Stating that the New Year holiday coincides with the weekend, President Berdimuhamedov announced the decision to move the weekend from January 1, 2023 to January 2. Having signed the relevant Decree, the Head of Turkmenistan drew the attention of the meeting participants to the organization of duty in all state structures to ensure the smooth operation of social and municipal services in cities and villages during the holidays.
Then, on behalf of the meeting participants, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov congratulated President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the coming year, 2023, wishing him good health, long life, family well-being and success in the extensive state work.
Summarizing the results of the joint meeting, the Turkmen President cordially congratulated the government officials and in their person all Turkmen citizens on the coming New Year and wished them good health, family welfare and great successes in their work for the prosperity of the country.
The government meeting considered a number of other issues related to the state affairs and took relevant decisions.
