Feeder Transportation Service to Start on Turkmenbashi-Baku-Turkmenbashi Route From January
International feeder transportations will allow efficient transportation of general cargoes on regular shipping lines in containers.

Marine Merchant Fleet of Turkmenistan JSC will supply the Balkan vessel for implementation of feeder container transportation on the Turkmenbashi-Baku-Turkmenbashi route starting from January 2023.

International feeder transportations will allow efficient transportation of general cargoes on regular shipping lines in containers. The main purpose of using the feeder transportation system is optimal cost, possibility of operative processing of ships that exclude their idle time in the port while waiting for free berths and shortening of delivery terms, according to the press release issued by Marine Merchant Fleet of Turkmenistan last Wednesday.

Cooperation with Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company CJSC, Baku International Sea Trade Port CJSC and ADY Container Georgia LLC has been achieved in order to support the implementation of this project and increase of feeder traffic between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, the statement added.

The companies intend to cooperate in order to increase the feeder transportation by sea and coordinate activities in the field of international feeder transportation.

Tariffs for transit transportation of containers by sea through Turkmenistan:

  • 20-foot container – $200
  • 40-foot container – $250
  • 45-foot container – $300

Tariffs for import and export transportation of Turkmenistan:

  • 20-foot container – $300
  • 40-foot container – $350
  • 45-foot container – $400
