President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov will pay a state visit to China on January 5-6, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China announced on Tuesday.
The visit of the Turkmen President will be carried out at the invitation of President of China Xi Jinping.
According to the data issued by General Administration of Customs of China, in January-November period of last year, the trade turnover between Turkmenistan and China amounted to more than $10.12 billion, a 53.2 percent year-on-year jump.
The major component of Turkmenistan's exports to China is natural gas delivered through pipelines.
Turkmenistan currently exports its natural gas to China via three pipelines passing along the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China route. The agreement on the construction of the fourth branch of a gas pipeline from Turkmenistan to China was agreed in February last year.
