As of January 1, 2023, 1,008 different purpose facilities were built in Turkmenistan within the framework of the National Rural Program, the country’s official media reported on Tuesday.
Among the constructed facilities are 74 hospitals, 148 healthcare centers, 264 pre-school institutions, 258 schools, 76 cultural centers, 115 sports schools and 73 sports facilities.
The National Rural Programme includes 15 areas of social systems and engineering infrastructure aimed at improving the living conditions of the population of Turkmenistan.
During the last 15 years, a total of 213 facilities were built in Ahal province, 145 facilities in Balkan province, 193 facilities in Dashoguz province, 233 facilities in Mary province and 224 social and cultural facilities in Lebap province.
National program of the President of Turkmenistan on transforming the social conditions of the population of villages, towns, cities of districts and district centers, dubbed the National Rural Program was adopted in 2007.
At the end of last year, new social buildings, including 62 four-storey apartment buildings designed to house 3,064 families were opened in the Gurtly residential complex in western Ashgabat.
