Turkmen President Visits Mary Province
The Head of Turkmenistan visited the Galkynysh gas field as part of his working visit, taking a deep interest in the works being carried out at the field.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov made a working visit to Mary province on Thursday, according to the country’s Watan Habarlary news program.

The Head of Turkmenistan visited the Galkynysh gas field as part of his working visit, taking a deep interest in the works being carried out at the field and the introduction of modern innovative methods in the processing industry.

The Turkmen President was briefed on the status of activities at the Galkynysh gas field, the capacity of production equipment, the stage-by-stage construction of wells and the large-scale work on development of new wells.

President Berdimuhamedov said industrial development of the Galkynysh gas field is of great importance, and its discovery strengthened Turkmenistan's status as an energy power in the world and opened up new opportunities for expansion of fruitful relations with foreign partners.

Emphasizing the importance of strengthening the raw materials base of the industry, development of newly discovered and recently discovered fields in various parts of the country, the Turkmen President stressed the importance of continuing such work.

Noting the importance of the effectiveness of comprehensive reforms carried out in many areas of the national economy of Turkmenistan, including the fuel-energy complex, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized the necessity of providing domestic consumers with natural gas along with increasing the export capacity of the country and, in this regard, gave specific instructions to relevant officials.

According to the report, all activities related to extraction, collection, processing and dispatch of the fuel at the Galkynysh gas field are fully automated. Special equipment provides reliable operation of facilities, as well as environmental safety.
