Turkmen President Shuffles Heads of Law Enforcement Bodies
Turkmen President appointed Nazar Atagarayev as the new Head of the Ministry of National Security.

President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan, Army General Serdar Berdimuhamedov during the expanded session of the State Security Council on Friday relieved and appointed the heads of Ministry of National Security, State Migration Agency and Supreme Court.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov relieved Gurbanmyrat Annayev from his post of Minister of National Security of Turkmenistan due to his transfer to another job. Turkmen President appointed Nazar Atagarayev as the new Head of the Ministry of National Security, relieving him from the post of Chairman of the State Migration Service, according to the country’s official media.

Batyr Volsakhatov was appointed as the new Head of the State Migration Agency of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, President Berdimuhamedov dismissed Guvanchmyrat Ussanepesov from the post of Chairman of the Supreme Court of Turkmenistan due to his transfer to another job and appointed Begench Hojamguliyev to the post, relieving him from the post of Chairman of the Ashgabat City Court.

The Head of Turkmenistan also relieved Orebay Mukhammedov and Musamyrat Soyunov of their posts of deputy chairmen of the Supreme Court due to their transfer to another job. Toynazar Hudaynazarov and Gurbanmyrat Hudayberdiyev were appointed as the new deputy heads of the Supreme Court. They previously worked as chairman of the Buzmeyin District Court of Ashgabat and Chairman of the Mary Provincial Court, respectively.

The expanded session of the State Security Council of Turkmenistan summarized the activities of military and law enforcement agencies for 2022. The agenda also included issues of ensuring security and peace in the country, strengthening the material and technical base of law enforcement agencies and further improvement of their activities.
