President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated Li Qiang on his appointment as Premier of the State Council of China, the official Turkmen media reported on Sunday.
"We attach special importance to further strengthening strategic relations with the People's Republic of China. We express our readiness to make joint efforts to expand the bilateral partnership through the realization of the existing great potential," Serdar Berdmihumedov said in his congratulatory message.
President Berdimuhamedov sincerely wished the new Premier of the State Council of China Li Qiang good health, happiness and success, and to the friendly people of China – peace, well-being and prosperity.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, also congratulated Li Qiang on his appointment as Premier of the State Council of China.
On Saturday, Chinese President Xi Jinping signed a presidential order to appoint Li Qiang as Premier at the session of China's national legislature – the National People's Congress. Li Qiang is the former Communist party chief of Shanghai, China’s largest city.
