Acting A&D Department Manager

Job Purpose

• Drive operational excellence by managing and optimizing P&A (Plug & Abandonment), and Decommissioning activities to align with corporate objectives, ensuring efficiency and quality across all stages of A&D process.
• Define implementation strategy whether in-house or outsourced and establish a solid plan for the same. Oversee a $20-40M, strategically allocating resources to maintain cost-effectiveness and deliver work within planned time and cost targets.
• Commit to continuous improvement by integrating new technologies and best practices. Assess and refine processes to boost performance, mitigate risks, and adapt to technology changes effectively.  Ensure implementation of out of box ideas and techniques that fast tracks P&A and A&D within the age and allocated budget of the PSA.

Job Responsibilities

• Initiate and manage responses to requests for decommission, including old wells, and dismantling old structures and pipelines while ensuring safe, secure and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
• Coordinate resource planning and allocation activities with Drilling, Well Services, Operations, Reservoir/ Petroleum, Integrity, Projects/ Constructions, and Engineering Departments and contractors to ensure that decommissioning of platforms are provided in a safe, efficient and cost-effective way.
• Review and approve procedures, standards and guidelines that ensure decommissioning of platforms are properly controlled and performed in a manner that meets company and regulatory safety and environment requirements.
• Participate in and recommend selection of contractors and service companies.
• Participate in the evaluation of equipment to ensure that it is fit-for-purpose and offers best value.
• Present and get approval for A&D strategies and plan of action from management.
• Contribute to Field Development plan and Business plans as directed by higher management.
• Liaise with government authorities as required.

Education

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering related discipline
• Minimum 15 years of experience in offshore Workover/ rigless activities or P&A or Drilling and Engineering in the oil and gas industry, including minimum of 5 years in a supervisory position.
• Experience in working in difficult environmental, cultural and climatic conditions.
