Job Purpose
- Conduct on-stream Nondestructive Testing (NDT) of materials and facility components to ensure the integrity of Onshore and Offshore piping, static equipment and tanks.
- Provide effective NDT supervision to the field and report to Asset Integrity Department.
- Ensure that NDT inspections, evaluations and acceptance criteria are in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
- Coordinate with Field Inspection Engineer to address and resolve technical issues related to inspection findings
Job Responsibilities
- Carry out on stream inspections of plant facilities as directed by the Field Inspection Engineer.
- Provide input into the selection and application of Radiographic (RT), Ultrasonic (UT), Phased Array Ultrasonic (PAUT), Pulse Eddy Current (PEC), Magnetic particle (MT), Liquid penetrant test etc.
- Perform Radiographic (RT), Ultrasonic (UT), Phased Array Ultrasonic (PAUT), Pulse Eddy Current (PEC), Magnetic particle (MT), Liquid penetrant tests as appropriate for the given component, in accordance with specified procedures and applicable codes and standards.
- Perform Ultrasonic scanning (Shear wave method) on welds of pressure vessels and piping. Conduct Ultrasonic, Phased Array Ultrasonic test and Pulse Eddy current testing for baseline monitoring survey on process piping, pressure vessels, storage tanks and Structural welds including TKY Joints.
- Conduct corrosion surveys by radiography and/or Ultrasonic testing as applicable.
- Conduct hardness tests before and after stress-relieving on various piping and pressure vessels where applicable.
- Conduct vacuum box tests on tank bottom plates, PMI, Holiday or pinhole tests on coated piping and pressure vessels.
- Conduct all NDT in accordance with company operating and HSE procedures, regulatory requirements and established safe work practices.
Education
- Diploma in Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry in facility and equipment inspection and non-destructive testing methods. Good general knowledge of materials, metallurgy, corrosion mechanisms and basic concepts of reliability Engineering.
