Magtymguly Pyragy's Poetry Collection Presented in Kyiv

On May 22, 2024, The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine, together with the National Library of Ukraine for Children, organized an official presentation of the collection of poems by Magtymguly Pyragy in the Ukrainian language titled "Махтумкули Фраги. Одкровение" in Kyiv.

As reported by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine, the event was attended by ambassadors and diplomatic staff of foreign embassies accredited in Ukraine, poets, writers, translators, and publishers, representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, district administrations of Kyiv, higher educational institutions, library directors from various cities of Ukraine, representatives of companies operating in Turkmenistan, Turkmen youth, and young readers.

The participants of the press conference highlighted the importance of the new book - a collection of poetry by Magtymguly in the Ukrainian language, in the comprehensive study of the poet's literary heritage.

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan expressed sincere gratitude to the author of the book - the talented researcher of the life and work of Magtymguly, Professor Mykola Vaskevych, contemporary translators of Magtymguly's poems N. Movchan and A. Kononenko, and the publisher of the book V. Zelensky for their assistance in the publication of the collection of poems by the Turkmen poet.

In a solemn atmosphere, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan presented copies of the new edition to the funds of Ukrainian libraries in honor of the poet's 300th anniversary.

Also presented at the event was a new book by the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, titled "Youth - the Pillar of the Motherland," and numerous works by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, translated into Ukrainian.

Participants at the presentation explored the richness of Turkmen traditions and customs through an exhibition featuring photographs, books, and national costumes. They observed the rhythms of significant transformations and savored traditional Turkmen cuisine.
