Embassy of Iran in Turkmenistan Hosts Reception for Revolution Day

The Embassy of Iran in Turkmenistan hosted a reception on Monday to celebrate the National Holiday of the Islamic Republic of Iran—Revolution Day. The event was attended by Rashid Meredov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, along with representatives from various diplomatic missions and international organizations.

The ceremony began with the national anthems of both nations. Meredov conveyed warm greetings from President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, noting their congratulations to President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian and the people of Iran. He also mentioned a recent phone conversation between National Leader of the Turkmen People and President of Iran, inviting Pezeshkian to an international forum on the International Year of Peace and Trust, scheduled for December 2025, in Ashgabat.

Meredov emphasized the importance of high-level communications between Turkmenistan and Iran, recalling President Berdimuhamedov's visit to Iran in June 2022 and the visit of Iranian leadership to Turkmenistan in May 2024 for the inauguration of Magtymguly Pyragy Park and also the unveiling of the Hafiz Shirazi monument.

Ambassador of Iran to Turkmenistan Ali Mojtaba Rouzbahani expressed gratitude to attendees and highlighted the significance of the 46th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution. He noted the deep historical, cultural, and religious ties between Iran and Turkmenistan and emphasized that Iran was one of the first countries to recognize Turkmenistan's independence.

The Ambassador mentioned recent diplomatic exchanges and the importance of bilateral activities, noting that the current trade volume is approximately $470 million. He concluded by expressing hope for the continued strengthening of relations, reaffirming Iran's commitment to expanding cultural and economic ties, and thanking the attendees for their participation.
