Türkiýe's tourism sector saw record-breaking results in the first quarter of 2025, with 8.844 million international visitors, generating $9.5 billion in tourism revenue. Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy shared the news during a press conference in Istanbul, as reported by the Embassy of Türkiýe in Turkmenistan.
According to Ersoy, this marks the highest performance for the same period in the history of Turkish tourism. He also reminded attendees that in 2024, Türkiýe ranked fourth in the global tourism destination rankings by the United Nations World Tourism Organization, with 62.2 million visitors, exceeding the target of 60 million.
By the end of 2025, Türkiýe aims to attract 65 million tourists and increase tourism revenues to $64 billion.
In the first three months of 2025, the industry saw a 5.6% increase in revenue. Key source countries for tourist arrivals included Iran (733,000 visitors), Russia (601,000), Germany (572,000), Bulgaria (560,000), and the United Kingdom (304,000). The average length of stay was 11 nights, with tourists spending about $98.90 per day.
