Turkmenistan and the United Kingdom have signed a series of bilateral documents in the fields of education and culture between relevant ministries and leading British educational institutions and companies, the British Embassy in Turkmenistan said Friday.
The documents were concluded during a visit by a Turkmen delegation to London to take part in the first Central Asia–UK Ministerial Summit on Feb. 26.
The agreements cover cooperation in archaeology, language education, professional skills and internationally recognized qualifications. The Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan signed an agreement with the UCL Institute of Archaeology, while the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan signed memorandums of understanding with AQA Global Assessment Services Ltd and National Computer Systems.
The National Institute of Education of Turkmenistan signed a memorandum with the Norwich Institute for Language Education, while the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammet Azadi concluded an agreement with Nottingham Trent University.
Implementation of the agreements is expected to create new opportunities for academic exchange, institutional development and access to internationally recognized qualifications, seen as an important investment in knowledge, skills and the future generation of Turkmenistan.
