An Akhal-Teke horse beauty competition was held as part of international events on horse breeding and equestrian sports in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, showcasing the natural beauty, breed characteristics and national equestrian traditions of Turkmen horses, according to a Business Turkmenistan representative at the event.
At the beauty competition held at the Maya Delorez arena of the Peelbergen equestrian sports complex in the Netherlands, judges evaluated the horses based on their natural beauty, purity of breed, harmonious body structure, stance and golden sheen of their coats. More than 100 horses from nearly 25 countries participated in the competition. Some horses were presented in their natural form, while others entered the arena in traditional adornments enhanced with handmade silver ornaments and alaja made by Turkmen artisans.
In the initial stages of the competition, Jeren Gözli took first place and Ak monjuk took second place among 2-year-old mares. Meledag was declared champion in the competition among 2-year-old stallions. He received high marks from the judges for his breed characteristics, harmonious body structure and high level of physical fitness.
The program of events held in Kronenberg is distinguished by its broad scope and rich content. The program will include beauty and dressage competitions among Akhal-Teke horses of different ages, the international scientific-practical conference “Akhal-Teke Horse: Turkmen Art of Universal Horse breeding,” a horse jumping competition, as well as events to select the best horse in Europe.
The program also includes an open meeting of the International Akhal-Teke Horse Association. An exhibition and fair dedicated to Turkmen equestrian art, national culture and artistic creativity, as well as Europe’s equestrian industry, will also be held.
Among the events is the international competition “Akhal-Teke Horse — A Supreme Example of Beauty,” dedicated to the artistic depiction of the beauty of Akhal-Teke horses. The competition will be held in sculpture, painting, carpet weaving, photography and jewelry.
The program is also expected to feature performances by the Galkynysh national equestrian games team. These events will help showcase the beauty of Akhal-Teke horses and the ancient Turkmen horsemanship traditions to the world, while also highlighting the place of Turkmenistan’s equestrian culture at the international level.
