Turkmenistan, Bahrain Seek to Boost Trade-Economic Cooperation

The Turkmen-Bahraini business forum took place in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain, Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in a press release on November 27.

A Turkmen delegation headed by the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dovletgeldi Rejepov and composed of the executives and representatives of state and private organizations and companies functioning in different segments of economy participated in the event.

During his address at the opening of the business forum, the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bahrain Sameer Abdulla Ahmed Nass underlined the high level of trade-economic cooperation between the two countries and noted that a vast potential for collaboration exists in such areas as transport, innovative technologies, seaport infrastructure and urban planning.

The bilateral meetings between the representatives of various agencies and business circles of the two countries took place on the sidelines of the forum, during which the parties discussed the opportunities of implementing joint projects.

The representatives of a number of Turkmen and Bahraini companies stated that a considerable level of cooperation between the business circles was already attained and discussed the opportunities for partnership in the field of food and textile industries, finance and tourism.

The last such business forum between the two countries took place during the King of Bahrain Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa’s visit to Turkmenistan in March.
