Exhibition dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET) started its work on Friday at the Exhibition Hall of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, the country’s official media reports.
More than 200 members of UIET working in various fields will showcase their products and past achievements at the exhibition.
In his congratulatory letter to the industrialists and businessmen on the occasion of opening ceremony of the exhibition, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov stated that the achievements of the Union members over the past 15 years prove that the private sector has become the main driving force of the national economy.
In the second half of the day a conference will be held to discuss the important tasks that Turkmen businesses face in the new historical period.
The exhibition was held at the Exhibition Hall of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and featured stands of structural organizations of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Rysgal Joint Stock Commercial Bank, large companies and enterprises implementing large-scale state projects in Ashgabat and the provinces. The stands showcase products and services of the Union members operating in the agro-industrial, food and processing industries.
According to the report, Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, founded in 2008, currently has more than 28 thousand representatives of the private sector of Turkmenistan. Currently trade volumes of the union members increase 39.3 times compared to 2008. Since the union’s foundation, Turkmen businesses managed to increase the growth rate of agricultural and food products 130.4 times and the growth rate of industrial products 82.8 times.
