Azerbaijan Cancels Fee for Road Transportation of Flammable Materials
The maximum limit for heavy goods vehicles was brought in line with international standards and raised to 41 tons.

The fee charged in Azerbaijan for the transportation of flammable materials was abolished with the Decree implementing new regulations on international road transportation that entered into force on March 30, the Anadolu News Agency reported on Friday with reference to the statement made by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye.

The city tax for heavy goods vehicles was also lifted in Azerbaijan.

Significant reductions were also made in border crossing tolls, the maximum limit for heavy goods vehicles was brought in line with international standards and raised to 41 tons.

The new regulations brought great convenience to Turkish transporters carrying out transportation services to Azerbaijan and via Azerbaijan to Russia, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, according to the AA.

The regulation is expected to facilitate transit transportation through Azerbaijan and further strengthen the Middle Corridor.

The Middle Corridor, i.e. Trans-Caspian International Middle East-West Corridor, connects Central Asia and the Caspian region to Europe via Turkey.
