More than 53 thousand calves have been raised in the western province of Balkan, the official Turkmen media reported on Thursday.
This big number is thanks to the efforts of shepherds from the Gyzylarbat farmers’ association of Gyzylarbat district, Balkan association of Turkmenbashi district and Gyzylbayir association of Etrek district.
This season begins a little later in the region due to the soil and weather conditions. As a result, the region's calving season ends in the second decade of April.
The number of calves from camels reached 744 in breeding farms.
Livestock breeders of Lebap province received 74 thousand 708 lambs during the calving season this year.
