Turkmenistan Included in Eurasian Agroexpress Project
Last year, the volume of agricultural products shipped under the joint project exceeded 500 thousand tons.

Turkmenistan has been included in the Eurasian AgroExpress joint project of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) member states, TASS news agency reported citing a statement by Trade Minister of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Andrey Slepnev.

"The joint project includes transportations carried out along the international transport North-South corridor to Turkmenistan, Iran, UAE and India," - said Andrey Slepnev.

According to the report, the updated plan of the project includes monthly pilot shipments along the eastern branch of the North-South corridor passing through Turkmenistan and involving Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

Furthermore, the number of direct railway shipments to China is increasing, and potential logistical hubs and tariff circumstances in Uzbekistan are under research.

The Eurasian Agroexpress is a project for the rapid containerization and multimodal transportation of agricultural export products from Eurasian Economic Union countries (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia) to China, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, and other South-Eastern and Central Asian countries.

2022
