President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov during the online cabinet meeting on Friday informed that domestic silkworm breeders delivered more than 2.3 thousand tons of cocoons to the country's state warehouses, the official Turkmen media reports.
During the meeting, Annageldi Yazmyradov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers in charge of the agro-industrial complex, said the country's silkworm breeders successfully fulfilled their contractual obligations on production of cocoons.
Having cordially congratulated the meeting participants and all Turkmen people on this labor achievement, the Turkmen President wished everyone good health, family welfare and great successes in their work.
The Vice-Premier also briefed on the large-scale environmental protection measures taken in the country and the solution of urgent tasks in the field of ecology. In accordance with the National Forest Program, in order to improve the environmental situation in the Aral Sea region, it is planned to create forest-protection zones in Dashoguz and Lebap provinces. Currently, preparatory works are underway to determine their locations and types of plants to be planted in the regions.
Annageldi Yazmyradov also presented a draft action plan on the occasion of World Environment Day.
The cabinet meeting reviewed drafts of a number of documents and discussed priority issues of state activities.
