The Presidents of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan agreed to expand long-term mutually beneficial cooperation through the creation of joint ventures in the textile, chemical, construction and other industries.

The intention to develop industrial and industrial cooperation is enshrined in the Joint Statement of the Heads of State following the first trilateral summit of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held on Friday at the Arkadag Hotel in Ashgabat, the official Turkmen media reports.

The sides also expressed support for activities and projects aimed at stimulating trade-economic relations and developing the transport-communication infrastructure that serves the welfare of the region, according to the report.

The Joint Statement additionally addressed issues of strengthening cooperation within the framework of international organizations, cooperation in the field of energy, logistics and transit, further optimization of tariffs, increase in trade turnover and rational use of water resources of the Amudarya River.
