Tourist Information Center Opens on Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan Border

An information center was opened at the border customs post Shavat-Dashoguz on the border of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The center is designed to inform tourists from Turkmenistan about the tourism potential of Uzbekistan, the Association of Tourist Transport of Uzbekistan reports.

The center provides a wide range of services for tourists, including information on visa procedures, cultural attractions, entertainment and sports events, tourist destinations and program, transport rental, catering, accommodation, medical care, services of tour operators and guides, as well as assistance with registration in the system e-guest.

The center also offers currency exchange, booking for transport tickets and various cultural events.

In addition, the tasks of the center include providing access to the internet, selling SIM cards and making payments for mobile communications and tourist tax.

The construction of the Trade Center in the Turkmen-Uzbek border zone, located in the Dashoguz velayat, will begin in July 2023, and the facility will be put into operation in July 2025.
