European Commission Vice President Margaritis Schinas highlighted Turkmenistan's particular role in the positive broader regional cooperation context.
Schinas, in an interview with Business Turkmenistan online publication during the Global Gateway: Sustainable Transport Connectivity between Europe and Central Asia Forum in Brussels on Monday, emphasized the importance of Turkmenistan's contribution to global energy stability and expressed the European Union's hope for the continuation of Turkmenistan's economic growth.
He further conveyed optimism about the ongoing development of relations between the EU and Turkmenistan.
‘The idea is to promote the connectivity between Central Asia and the European Union. And this Investment Forum today is the fantastic opportunity to bring everybody together: the governments, the investors, the international financial institutions,’ he added.
The Global Gateway Forum, focusing on sustainable transport connectivity, commenced on Monday in Brussels and is scheduled to extend until January 30, 2024. The second day of the forum will center on discussions pertinent to Turkmenistan, with a specific emphasis on exploring opportunities related to the transit hub.
