Esen Aydogdyev, Turkmenistan's Ambassador to the Russian Federation, engaged in a meeting held in Moscow on Monday with Grigory Ivliev, the President of the Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO). Ivliev conveyed the organization's willingness to enhance collaboration with Turkmenistan across various domains.
According to the EAPO press service, the organization is keen on fostering cooperation with Turkmenistan in facilitating dialogue among IT specialists, implementing 3D formats for application submissions, adopting electronic document management, and office work. There are also plans to establish a shared expert and information space in the long run.
Ivliev expressed optimism about Turkmenistan joining the Protocol on the Protection of Industrial Designs to the Eurasian Patent Convention in the near future.
The discussions during the meeting addressed current cooperative issues, showcasing mutual benefits and prospects that contribute significantly to the advancement of interstate collaboration in intellectual property protection. This collaboration aims to fortify the legislative and practical foundation, as reported by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Moscow.
The President of the EAPO extended an invitation to the Turkmen side to participate in upcoming commemorative events marking the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Eurasian Patent Convention.
The Eurasian Patent Organization, comprising eight member states—Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan—operates as an international intergovernmental organization, managing administrative tasks related to the Eurasian patent system and the issuance of Eurasian patents for inventions and industrial designs.
