Turkmen farmers have delivered over 1.2 million tons of grain to Turkmenistan's granaries, Turkmenistan State news agency (TDH) reported on Monday.

The announcement came as President Serdar Berdimuhamedov convened a working meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahalliyev and regional governors to review progress in the agricultural sector and seasonal campaigns across the country.

"Thanks to the active support of the state, grain growers have delivered over 1.2 million tons of grain to the Motherland's granaries," the report stated. Wheat harvesting continues nationwide.

In the Dashoguz and Lebap regions, rice field maintenance is underway, while sugar beet planting with subsequent vegetation watering is taking place in the Mary region.

Addressing the meeting participants, President Berdimuhamedov noted that the country's food abundance is ensured by the selfless labor of agricultural workers, with the achievements of grain growers being particularly noteworthy.
