Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmed Gurbanov met on Tuesday with Mark Cameron, Director of the Central Asia Department of the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs at the U.S. Department of State. During the talks, both parties exchanged views on the current state and future prospects of bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United States.
According to Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, discussions focused on key areas of collaboration, including political partnership, trade and economic ties, climate change issues—such as joint efforts to reduce methane emissions—and humanitarian topics.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening constructive dialogue, based on mutual respect and trust, to further advance relations between the two nations.
The Central Asia Department of the U.S. Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs is responsible for implementing U.S. foreign policy regarding Central and South Asia. Its main objectives include strengthening bilateral relations, promoting economic cooperation, and supporting security.
