Workers plan to complete the new automobile bridge over Garabogazkol Bay on the Turkmenbashiy–Garabogaz–Kazakhstan border highway in May, Turkmenistan’s official media reported Friday.

The bridge, built to international standards, will feature two lanes for two-way traffic. It will measure 354 meters long and 21 meters wide, ensuring high capacity and long-term durability.

Crews are concreting supports, installing metal structures, insulating columns, and preparing access roads for paving. They aim to meet deadlines and maintain quality to open the bridge on schedule.

Construction began in July 2022 through a partnership with Altcom Road Construction LLC, which collaborates with Turkmenistan. Suppliers from Turkey, Germany, and the United Kingdom provide key materials, including steel structures.
