President of USA Donald Trump signed an executive order recognizing English as the official language of the United States. The White House published the document, which states that English has been the national language since the country’s founding, with key historical documents such as the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution written in English, as reported by the official media of Turkmenistan.

The executive order states that the move will "simplify communication," "strengthen common national values," and "create a more unified and effective society." The new order revokes the 2000 executive order by the 42nd U.S. President, Bill Clinton, which ensured access to government services for people with limited English proficiency.

The policy does not require changes to government or commercial operations, meaning businesses and official documents can continue in other languages.

Over 350 languages are spoken in the U.S., with Spanish, Chinese, Tagalog, Vietnamese, and Arabic among the most common. This marks the first time in the country’s 250-year history that the federal government has officially recognized a national language.
