Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Georgia, Dovletmyrat Seyitmammedov, met with Giorgi Mirtskhulava, Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Culture on May 15, to discuss expanding cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries, according to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia.

The two officials noted the positive momentum in Turkmen-Georgian cooperation and emphasized the importance of reciprocal Cultural Days as a tool for strengthening bilateral relations. They also discussed plans for new joint initiatives in the cultural sphere.

Ambassador Seyitmammedov outlined upcoming events commemorating the United Nations-designated International Year of Peace and Trust, as well as the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality. He said the embassy in Tbilisi plans to work closely with Georgian state institutions and representatives of the creative community to organize cultural and educational programs.

The meeting also covered the possibility of hosting themed events in both Turkmenistan and Georgia in connection with significant national and international dates. Deputy Minister Mirtskhulava confirmed Georgia’s commitment to furthering cultural dialogue and supporting joint projects.

Earlier, a roundtable was held at Sokhumi State University marking the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality and the International Year of Peace and Trust.
