Turkmenistan to Build Modern Güneşli Youth Center in Ashgabat

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has signed a resolution authorizing the construction of the new Güneşli Children and Youth Center in Ashgabat during a regular Cabinet of Ministers meeting, as reported by Turkmenistan’s state news agency on Thursday.

According to Deputy Chairman of Cabinet of Ministers Baymyrat Annamammedov, the center will be built on a four-hectare site. It will include a main building, a library, areas for sports and cultural events, playgrounds, and auxiliary facilities. The project aims to create conditions for the comprehensive development of children and support for talented youth.

With funding from the Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the center’s library is set to include an observatory for space observation. It will be equipped with modern digital technologies.

The head of state emphasized that Turkmenistan is creating all necessary conditions for the harmonious development of youth. According to him, modern kindergartens, schools, sports and wellness complexes, and recreation centers are being built and put into operation across the country.

Construction of the center is scheduled to begin in June 2025, with completion expected by May 2027.

The President of Turkmenistan also instructed the deputy chairman of Cabinet Ministers ensure the high-level organization of events commemorating International Children’s Day and warmly congratulated the people of the country on the occasion.

The government meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers also addressed a number of other matters related to state affairs.
