Turkmenistan has reaffirmed its interest in actively pursuing joint projects aimed at strengthening transport, trade, and energy ties with the European Union, Turkmenistan’s Embassy in Belgium reported on Tuesday.

The statement followed a meeting in Brussels between Central Asian ambassadors accredited to the EU and Peteris Ustups, Regional Director at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA). Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to the EU, Sapar Palvanov, took part in the event.

The meeting participants reviewed the outcomes of the first Central Asia–EU Summit and discussed preparations for the upcoming Investment and Economic Forums, scheduled for late November 2025. These forums are expected to serve as platforms for promoting specific initiatives in the areas of international transport corridors, cooperation on critical raw materials, green energy, and sustainable development.

Officials also emphasized cooperation with the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to support the practical implementation of priority projects.

Earlier, Turkmenistan and the EIB expressed readiness to intensify collaboration on the preparation of concrete investment projects and the drafting of relevant cooperation memorandums.
