Turkmenistan’s first private university has launched student admissions for the 2025–2026 academic year, according to the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper published Wednesday.

The International University of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs was established in June 2025 by decree of Turkmenistan's President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. It is the country’s first higher education institution founded by the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.

The new university aims to train specialists for the private sector and supports Turkmenistan’s strategic priorities in digitalization and sustainable development.

Located on an 8-hectare modern campus, the university will feature four academic buildings, two student dormitories, an administrative building, sports and cultural facilities, a library, conference halls and project workspaces.

The university will include six faculties, such as economics, digital technologies, architecture and construction, agro-entrepreneurship, as well as a foreign languages department and a professional development center. The curriculum will follow an integrated model: students will study general subjects in the first year and then choose a specialization.

More than 15 programs will be offered, covering key sectors from mechanical engineering to international trade. Up to 500 students are expected to enroll in the first academic year. Intensive foreign language study, including English, will be a mandatory part of the program.

The new university is designed to become an intellectual hub for training specialists to help modernize the economy, drive digital transformation and boost the export potential of Turkmenistan’s private sector.
