An official inauguration ceremony was held on Monday in the Mary Region to mark the commissioning of new facilities at the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan, including an additional academic building, a student dormitory, a sports complex, and the Täze kuwwat monument.

The newly opened academic building is designed to accommodate up to 2,000 students and is equipped with lecture halls, laboratories, computer and language classrooms, a “Renewable Energy” research and production center, a library, an esports hall, and a center for robotics and artificial intelligence, according to Turkmenistan's official media.

The new dormitory provides housing for 800 students, while the sports complex includes training and multi-purpose sports halls. Wind and solar power plants have also been installed on the campus to partially supply energy to the facilities.

The construction was carried out by the private enterprise Röwşen under the order of the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan. The new buildings have received international certificates of compliance from UNESCO, the Latvian Sustainable Construction Council, and the United Nations Development Programme for the implementation of innovative technologies and efficient resource use.

As part of the ceremony, memorandums of cooperation were signed with Germany’s Clausthal University of Technology and Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg.

In celebration of Knowledge and Student Youth Day, new schools and kindergartens were also inaugurated across the country. In Ashgabat, kindergartens with a capacity of 160 children opened in the Parahat-7 residential complex, and facilities accommodating 320 children were launched in Choganly, Büzmeýin, and Ýasmansalyk. Additionally, schools with capacities of 960 and 720 students were opened in Parahat-7 and Choganly, respectively. In Lebap province, a 400-seat school was commissioned in the village of Bekaryk.

All institutions are equipped with modern multimedia technologies and offer conditions for the comprehensive development of children and youth.
