Turkmenistan Invites German Companies to Cooperate in the Energy Sector
Days of the Economy of Turkmenistan, October 30, 2025, Frankfurt, Germany

Turkmenistan is inviting German companies to cooperate in the energy sector, including in the implementation of innovative technologies and the exchange of expertise, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyyev said at the Turkmenistan Economy Days forum in Frankfurt on Thursday.

According to Atagulyyev, a key element of the country’s energy strategy is the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline project. As part of this initiative, development of the Galkynysh field continues.

The deputy chairman noted that Turkmenistan is also interested in attracting investment to develop promising areas of the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea and to expand the petrochemical industry. Among the priorities are modernizing energy infrastructure, constructing new facilities, and developing power transmission lines, including the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan project.

Renewable energy projects are also being implemented in the country. In the near future, a 10-megawatt hybrid solar and wind power plant is expected to be commissioned in western Turkmenistan.

Atagulyyev emphasized that Turkmenistan has created favorable conditions for foreign investors. The attractiveness of the national market is driven by political stability, abundant natural resources, competitive energy prices, and a reliable legal framework that guarantees investment protection.

The international event was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, with TMT Consulting Group serving as co-organizer, providing organizational and communication support for the forum.

The State Concern Turkmengaz is holding talks with China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) on the implementation of the second phase of development of the Galkynysh field. Discussions on the third phase are underway with ADNOC.
